School Improvement

School Improvement is a collaborative process that school learning organizations and stakeholders engage in to improve the level of student learning and achievement. The Michigan Department of Education and The No Child Left Behind Act have specific mandates that require schools and districts to engage in the Continuous School Improvement process.

The Michigan School Improvement Framework guides programs and services based on the Five Strands:

  • Teaching for Learning
  • Leadership for Learning
  • Personnel and Professional Learning
  • School, Family, and Community Relations
  • Data and Information Management
