Doug Leisenring became the superintendent of Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District in July 2015. Mr. Leisenring served 24 years as a teacher and administrator in the Escanaba Area School District, most recently as principal of Escanaba High School before coming to DSISD. He started his career as a high school math teacher advancing to the positions of district technology coordinator, high school athletic director and elementary principal before being named EHS principal in 2007.
Mr. Leisenring earned a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Michigan Technological University. He was named Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association Region 14 Principal of the Year in 2003, inducted into the Michigan Technological University Academy of Educators in 2010 and was named the Michigan High School Principal of the Year in 2015 by the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals.
